Find the real cancellation path for a subscription, avoid renewal traps, and draft the cancellation request.
Ask for it like this
- “How do I cancel my gym membership?”
- “Cancel a subscription that keeps charging me”
- “Stop a free trial before it renews”
What your assistant does
- Get the service name, how the user signed up (web, app store, phone), and the next renewal date if known.
- Search the service's official cancellation instructions. App-store subscriptions are cancelled in the Apple or Google account settings, not with the company.
- Give the exact click path or phone path, and note the cancel-by time needed to avoid the next charge.
- If the company makes it hard to cancel, draft a written cancellation request that states the date and asks for confirmation, and mention that in the US, the FTC and many states require online cancellation to be as easy as signing up.
