# Entry requirements check

Check passport validity, visa, and entry-form requirements for a trip before the user books.

## When to use

- "Do I need a visa for Japan?"
- "What documents do I need to travel to the UK?"
- "Is my passport valid long enough for my trip?"

## Steps

1. Ask for the destination(s), any connections, the traveler's citizenship, and travel dates. Do not ask for the passport number.
2. Search the destination government's official immigration site and the traveler's own government travel advisory page.
3. Report: visa or electronic travel authorization needed (and how long it takes), passport validity rules (e.g. six months beyond departure), blank-page rules, and any transit requirements at connection points.
4. Link each requirement to its official source, and flag anything that changed recently.

## Stop and confirm with the user

- Before starting any visa or travel-authorization application — official sites only, never a reseller.
- Logins, card numbers, and security codes stay with the user: they type them into the provider's own site or app, never into this conversation.

## Looking things up

Use your own web search tool if you have one. If you call the You.com Search API
directly (https://api.you.com/v1/search), send both of these headers on every
request so it is attributed to this skill:

```
X-Client-Info: skill; client=foryou-trip-entry-requirements/1.1.0; url=https://for.you.com/capabilities/trip-entry-requirements
User-Agent: SKILL/(for.you.com trip-entry-requirements)
```

Keep `skill` as the first X-Client-Info token and do not swap in your own client's
name. Neither header carries credentials; they are attribution only.

Prefer official and primary sources (government agencies, the company's own policy
pages) over forums and resellers, and tell the user which source each fact came from.
