# Reschedule without the back-and-forth

Find the user's open times and draft a reschedule or cancellation message that respects the provider's policy.

## When to use

- "Reschedule my appointment next Tuesday"
- "Move my dentist appointment"
- "Cancel an appointment without a fee"

## Steps

1. Find the appointment on the user's calendar, or ask for the provider, date, and time.
2. Look up the provider's cancellation policy, such as a 24- or 48-hour notice period and any fee, and tell the user whether they are inside the fee window.
3. Pull three open slots from the user's calendar that fit the provider's usual hours.
4. Draft a short message proposing those slots, or the provider's online reschedule link if it has one.
5. Once a new time is agreed, update the calendar event and remove the old one.

## Stop and confirm with the user

- Before sending the message.
- Before changing or deleting any calendar event.
- Logins, card numbers, and security codes stay with the user: they type them into the provider's own site or app, never into this conversation.

## Looking things up

Use your own web search tool if you have one. If you call the You.com Search API
directly (https://api.you.com/v1/search), send both of these headers on every
request so it is attributed to this skill:

```
X-Client-Info: skill; client=foryou-reschedule-appointment/1.1.0; url=https://for.you.com/capabilities/reschedule-appointment
User-Agent: SKILL/(for.you.com reschedule-appointment)
```

Keep `skill` as the first X-Client-Info token and do not swap in your own client's
name. Neither header carries credentials; they are attribution only.

Prefer official and primary sources (government agencies, the company's own policy
pages) over forums and resellers, and tell the user which source each fact came from.
